Speech turn

Two meanings are accepted.

In the first meaning, the speaking turn designates a span of text (recording) where a speaker keeps speaking without major interruption. In this sense, the speaking turns can overlap and a simple “”mh”” constitute a speaking turn.

In socio-linguistic terms, speaking turns refer to speaking which implies a change of speaking turn.
